Palos Verdes 12/28
Went opaleye fishing at Palos Verdes twice this month. The good spot I found last month hasn't yet produced.
On the 7th the So. Cal. coast had experienced a high surf event all week. The water at the back of the cove was riled but fishable. Problem was the nearby landslide cause muddy dark conditions. I had no bass hits with the WildEye Sardine and only one small bite with the opaleye green bait.
Today I actually caught one calico bass that was ten inches (returned) with the WildEye and had another take from what felt like a keeper about a hundred yards out to the right from the back of the cove. The big one got off before I could net it.
I fished for four hours during prime incoming tide and had not one bite on the green bait. Already it is time to locate another productive opaley hole for 2016.
